Between 1941 and 1959, Josefa Tolrà made over a hundred drawings, wrote and illustrated numerous notebooks, composed poems, transcribed texts and embroidered shawls with fluidic forms. Activities that she carried out through her skills as a medium in touch with the spirits of the dead. She began to paint in order to overcome the enormous tragedy of the death of her children. She never wanted to be an artist or seek fame, and painting was an antidote against the rational order to overcome the pain of life. Without formal education or artistic influences, her work is spontaneous and orderly, made through graphic patience and extra-sensory inspiration.
